How We Work
Hastings Builders Company has an experienced team of painters and decorators for both internal and external decorating works who pride themselves on close attention to detail. The skills of our accredited professional tradesmen mean you always get the desired effect leaving you beautifully pristine walls and floors with a perfect finish.
We don’t cut any corners in our work, all the materials we use are industry-standard good quality paints, wallpaper, brushes and rollers. We can also work with any materials (such as paint or wallpaper) you wish to provide, just let us know when you ask for a quote. We have tools and equipment on hand to reach even the trickiest places including very high ceilings and the areas above conservatories.
We will provide a reliable and efficient service to help save you time and money with minimal stress. All works are completed within a good timescale to the highest of standard ensuring our customers return over and over again along with recommending us to friends and family. Gyproc EasiFill 60 has a combined setting and air-drying time which makes works much faster often saving the customer a considerable amount of money. Its suitable for all types of filling from small areas of surface filling to large tape joints walls or deeper areas. It has a working time of around 60 minutes which allows for a second coat to be applied just a few hours later. Whilst maintaining a high coverage rate with minimal drying time & shrinkage Gyproc EasiFill allows an easy application for us which is quick and efficient and very easy to sand.
Toupret TOUPRELITH F Masonry Repair Filler will fill without depth limit and repair without formwork. There is no need for stabilizing solution or PVA therefore reducing labour times and its easy to shape and rub up meaning minimal if any sanding is required prior to decor. It will adhere to damp masonry extremely well and will not flash or grin. Suitable for external use only it can be painted over in 48-72 hours depending on the weather conditions.
It can be used on a variety of surfaces including all rough masonry surfaces, cement, concrete, breeze blocks, bricks and stones. Overcoat with any standard water based masonry paint or mineral paint and then apply 2 coats of Dulux Weathershield for a full protection and therefore reducing any need to repair for many years. If you want to use an oil based paint you will need to apply 1 coat of water based first.
Ronseal Wood Filler is a high performance wood filler that lasts for years even when exposed to harsh weather conditions. Capable of filling any depth of wood internal or external its extremely efficient to use drying in just 30 minutes leaving it ready to sand without any cracking or shrinking. Once fully dry it can be sanded, planed, filed, nailed or screwed and is suitable for painting, staining or varnishing. It comes in 3 different colours (white, natural & dark brown) which means we can match to the existing colour of timber if required. Using Ronseal wood filler is easy simply using a mixture of hardener and filler and applying small amounts at a time which also helps us reduce waste and reduces the amount of sanding needed. We have used Ronseal wood filler for many years and there really is no other wood filler capable of the performance of Ronseals.
Oakey Liberty Green Sandpaper has been the first choice of sandpaper for craftsmen since 1833. Constructed from premium grade aluminium oxide with a heavyweight backing the Liberty Green sandpaper works extremely fast helping to reduce labour times and save you, the customer, more money. It also lasts much long than any comparable products on the market today. Being suitable for both hand and power tools its a versatile paper that we always have on board!
The Liberty Green range is available in 4 different grades, 40, 60, 80 & 120 making it tough enough to tackle nearly any surfaces and light enough to achieve a perfect finish. With its fast acting , anti-clogging structure its no wonder this is the worlds No1 aluminium oxide abrasive sandpaper.
Purdy Paint Brushes are professional paint brushes made to the highest of standards and individually signed. Our reputation relies on a high quality finish which is why we use Purdy brushes for all our finish work. Each brush is hand crafted with the same attention to details using the finest raw materials. We will carefully prepare your walls following the correct procedure taking pictures along the way which we can email to you upon completion. Once our walls have been painted twice you can register within 6 months of purchase to activate the Weathershield Promise.
